Injectables often get talked about in extremes; either overdone results or dramatic before-and-afters. But most people who try wrinkle relaxers or fillers are simply looking for a soft, subtle refresh. If you’ve been curious but want to keep your natural expression and facial movement, we'll walk you through what to expect, how treatments work and how to get results that look like you, just a bit more rested.

Injectables can be especially helpful if you’re starting to notice early fine lines, feeling like your face looks “tired” even when you’re not, or wanting to balance features gently without committing to anything dramatic.

What Counts as a “Little Refresh”?

A refresh isn’t about changing your face; it’s about bringing back brightness and balance. First-time clients usually want improvements like:

  • Softer lines between the brows or across the forehead

  • Smoother crow’s feet

  • A bit more hydration or shape in the lips (without volume)

  • Lift in the cheeks to reduce shadows

  • A more awake, rested look

  • Subtle contouring for better facial balance

Small, conservative dosing and careful placement are typically all that’s needed.

Wrinkle Relaxers vs. Fillers: What’s the Difference?

Wrinkle Relaxers (Botox, Daxxify, Jeuveau, Xeomin)

These soften movement-based lines like frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet without freezing expression. You’ll still look like yourself; the goal is to quiet the muscle just enough to smooth the skin.

Great for:

  • First signs of aging

  • “Tired” or tense-looking expressions

  • Preventing deeper lines from forming

Fillers (RHA Collection)

Think of fillers as structural support. They can restore hydration, smooth etched-in lines, or add subtle lift in areas that look deflated.

Great for:

  • Softening under-eye shadows

  • Restoring cheek structure

  • Smoothing smile lines

  • Hydrating the lips

  • Balancing asymmetry

Modern fillers like RHA move naturally with facial expression, which keeps results subtle.

Your First Visit: What Happens?

1. Consult First

Every appointment at Inclusive Aesthetics starts with a consult. We’ll talk through your goals, your facial anatomy and your comfort level with change. Many people say, “I just don’t want to look different,” and that’s the perfect starting point.

2. Photos & Planning

We take clinical photos to understand proportion, symmetry and natural expression. This helps guide dosing and placement.

3. Treatment (If Appropriate)

If your medical history and timing look good, we can usually treat the same day. For first-timers, the approach is always conservative. We start small, reassess and adjust over time.

4. Aftercare

You’ll get simple instructions for the next 24–48 hours. Most people go right back to daily life with minimal restrictions.

5. Follow-Up

Results settle in over 1–2 weeks. We check in around that time to make sure everything looks balanced and natural.

How to Keep Results Looking Natural

  • Choose conservative dosing

  • Treat gradually instead of all at once

  • Avoid trends that don’t fit your anatomy

  • Keep skin healthy with good skincare, SPF and hydration

  • Work with a provider who specializes in natural movement

At Inclusive Aesthetics, Grace Chapman, DNP, focuses on subtle, balanced results. Never “frozen,” never over-filled. Grace uses wrinkle relaxers and RHA fillers thoughtfully, adjusting slowly to fit your expression, tone and facial structure.

Common Questions From First-Time Clients

Will people notice?

Most people will say you look rested - not “different.” A soft refresh is the goal.

Does it hurt?

Most treatments involve quick, small pinches. Sessions are usually easier than clients expect.

How long do results last?

Relaxers last about 3–4 months; fillers can last 6–12 months depending on the area and product used.

Is there downtime?

Not much. Minor swelling or redness is possible for a few hours. Bruising is uncommon with a careful approach.

What if I don’t like the results?

We always start conservatively. There’s room to adjust, refine or simply let results fade naturally.

When to Skip Injectables

You may need to wait or explore alternatives if you’re pregnant/breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, recent illness, certain autoimmune conditions or specific medication interactions. We’ll review this during your consult.

A Natural Approach to Aging Gracefully

Injectables don’t have to be dramatic to be effective. When used carefully, they brighten your expression, soften harsh lines and create balance without changing the features you love. If you’re curious but want a subtle touch, a consultation can help you understand what’s right for your face, tone and comfort level.
